A Thanksgiving Dinner “À la Française”
Thanksgiving is one of the most important celebrations in the United-States. It takes place every 4th Thursday of November. This year, it will be on the 27th of November.
A Thanksgiving Dinner “À la Française” (add a french touch to your Thanksgiving dinner)
To impress your guests, indulge them with an exquisite dinner à la Française :
For your first course, start with a butternut soup paired with a white wine from Château Carbonnieux from the Pessac Léognan appellation, made with Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle. Also, this wine is fresh and fruity, is complex and intense, with peach and nectarine aromas that would pair well with your butternut soup.

A Pomerol wine with your Thanksgiving meal
Then, the meal is generally composed of a stuffed turkey served with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes, green beans, grilled corn on the cob, and cornbread…
The stuffed turkey pairs beautifully with a red wine from Château Beauregard from the Pomerol appellation, made with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is very famous for its unique rich character and its fruity flavor and plumpness.
Finish off with some cheese
Thirdly, the French like to eat cheese, before the dessert, here are three cheeses that would also pair beautifully with wines.
– Cheese paired with white wine : Brie truffé (cow milk), Tête de moine (cow milk) Bûche de chèvre cendré (goat milk).
– Cheese paired with red wine : Mimolette (cow milk), Ossau iraty (goat milk) and Comté (cow milk).
