Bordeaux Fête le Vin 2023
Bordeaux’s annual wine festival is back! From Thursday, June 22, to Sunday, June 25, Bordeaux Fête le Vin will be taking place in venues across the city.
Taste the Wines
The main attraction for wine lovers is, of course, the quayside ‘wine village,’ where a re-creation of the Wine Route takes visitors on a tour through the appellations. Visit more than 80 wine producers and wine merchants who are hosting tastings in the pavilions. Entrance to the village is free, and wine tasting passes can be bought if you’d like to sample some of the many reds, rosés, clairets, whites and crémants on offer. The wine village is easily accessible on foot if you’re based in the city centre, or if not Bordeaux’s comprehensive tram network is a convenient and cheap way to get around.
Activities for All Ages
There’s fun for all the family and activities for people of all ages. The Anima’Vigne games and workshops use materials from the world of wine, such as barrels, bottles and corks. You can watch a barrel-building demonstration or play ‘wine pong’. Music lovers can catch concerts in different venues. Plus there will be several impressive tall ships in the River Garonne, some of which welcome visitors aboard.
Regional Dishes
Local producers and caterers are in the bodegas and food trucks. Arcachon Bay oysters to Bordeaux canelés, cheeses and vegetarian fare, there’s something to suit all tastes.
Highest of highlights!
A unique spectacle takes place on Friday and Saturday night, as 400 illuminated drones take to the air and fill the skies above the city with a colorful choreographed display.
This month’s festival is bound to be a lot of fun. You can buy a wine tasting pass here, from €22; tickets are also available onsite, although they might be a bit more expensive.
