Élodie Jouannel

CEO & Founder

I was born and bred in the Bordeaux region, just minutes from the magnificent vineyards of Saint Emilion; I am as much a product of the area’s unique terroir as the local wines.

My grandfather spent his entire life in the wine and food business, my brother manages a chateau, and my cousin is a wine merchant. After living in the U.S. and Central America for over a decade and working for gourmet food businesses, like Les Trois Petits Cochons (The Three Little Pigs); I am thrilled to have returned to my roots, and to the beauty and grace of Bordeaux.

Bordeaux with Elodie gives me the opportunity to share my passion for the region with wine and culinary enthusiasts from around the world.

Safia

Project Manager & Office Admin

Safia has always loved traveling and always knew she wanted to build a career in the travel industry. She met Elodie several years ago, and in 2020 they decided to start working together. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it wasn’t until two years later that Safia was finally able to join the BWE dream team!

Passionate about wine, she also holds the WSET Level 2 certification.

Since joining the team in April 2022, Safia has been a key part of the BWE office, where she plans our guests’ tours while also managing a variety of administrative and accounting tasks.

Marina

Project Manager & Wine Guide

Marina was born around Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy, and grew up surrounded by vineyards.

She knew her future lay in Bordeaux, so she completed a Master’s Degree in wine marketing and interned in a winery in Saint-Emilion: the love story had begun!

After working at several prestigious wineries throughout the Bordeaux appellations : Sauternes, Pomerol, etc… she met Elodie, and the rest is history! She is now living the dream, and can’t wait to share it with you, our lovely guests. Cheers!

Emily

Project Manager & Wine and History Guide

Emily was born in a wine région from the South West of France. She spent her childhood travelling with her grandmother; this gave her the curiosity and the open mind to be a tour guide.

She started her career in Paris giving tours to the Louvre and Versailles, sharing her love for history and architecture. Seven years ago, she decided to pack up and move to Bordeaux so that she could combine her passion of wine and heritage. Emily will make you fall in love with French culture.

Marie

Communication & Marketing Manager

Marie joined the team in September 2025 as part of her Bachelor’s degree in Event Communication. She is behind the posts, stories, articles, and content you see across our social media platforms and website.

Enthusiastic, creative, and detail oriented, Marie supports the team on a daily basis, driven by a genuine desire to help showcase and share the Bordeaux art de vivre.

Émilie

Wine Guide

Originally from northern France, Emilie lived in Paris for many years. After earning a degree in tourism and hospitality, she decided to follow her dream, traveling the world and discovering new cultures.

Our wonderful Emilie has been part of the dream team since 2017 and truly loves what she does. She spent many years in Paris working in luxury, hospitality, and tourism, including eight years as a sales agent for Air France. Always driven by joy and passion, she chose to keep moving forward. Her life took a new turn when she reconnected in Bordeaux with one of her first loves, red wine. Emilie will introduce you to the very best of Bordeaux with endless knowledge, love, passion, and emotion. As a little bonus, she is also a talented photographer, so do not hesitate to ask her to capture some beautiful photos of you.

Jeremy

Wine Guide

The first man to make it to the Dreamteam!

He is exceptional, as reaffirmed by our guests lucky enough to experience his guides.

Jeremy was born to an English mother and a French father, who raised him here in Bordeaux. Loyal to the region, he has worked in some of the most exclusive estates from a young age, developing a strong passion for winemaking.

Jeremy has vast knowledge and loves meeting fellow wine lovers, sharing his passion for great foods and wines and, crucially, having fun!

Margaux

Wine Guide

Born in Bordeaux but raised for many years in French Polynesia, Margaux has always had a passion for travel and discovering new cultures. Her adventures led her through Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Portugal and Hungary, where she explored wine regions from around the world and earned her WSET Level 3 certification.

After all those travels, she came back to Bordeaux for a simple reason: it’s still the wine region she loves most. Today, she enjoys sharing her favorite places, stories and wines with guests, bringing a global perspective and contagious enthusiasm to every experience.

Miguel

Wine Guide

Raised in the Dominican Republic in a family with Spanish roots, Miguel grew up surrounded by a rich blend of cultures, traditions and stories.

His passion for wine started early, inspired by his grandmother, who introduced him to the pleasure of discovering and sharing great bottles. After moving to Bordeaux in 2022, he decided to turn that passion into a career.

Today, as a WSET-certified wine professional and private guide, Miguel enjoys helping guests discover Bordeaux through its wines, history and traditions. Curious by nature and passionate about heritage, he loves bringing every tasting to life with stories that connect people, places and wine.

Valentin

Wine Guide

Valentin grew up in the heart of Saint-Émilion, surrounded by vineyards, great wines, and a family culture deeply rooted in the world of wine. From an early age, he developed a natural feel for terroir, the stories behind each estate, and the art of tasting.

After completing a double master’s degree in Wine & Web in Bordeaux, he expanded his experience internationally, studying in Dublin, Lisbon, and San Francisco. He then moved to Sydney, where he worked alongside renowned chef Neil Perry.

This experience shaped his approach to wine and gastronomy, combining precision, elegance, and a true sense of hospitality. Today, Valentin shares wine as it should be experienced, through moments that are refined, relaxed, and deeply connected to people, places, and stories.

Maud

Wine Guide

Maud was born and raised in Bordeaux, between Pessac and Léognan. Although she once swore she would never work in wine, she has been part of the industry since 2015.

After experiences in prestigious Bordeaux estates and a family-owned vineyard in Corsica, she found her perfect fit in wine tourism, combining her passion for wine, hospitality and her home region.

Marion

Wine Guide

Originally from France’s Loire Valley, Marion grew up surrounded by vineyards and historic châteaux. Passionate about languages, travel and cultural exchange, she spent several years living abroad before settling in Bordeaux.

With a background in international relations and yoga teaching, she brings curiosity, warmth and a genuine love of connecting with people. Today, she enjoys sharing the treasures of Bordeaux and creating meaningful experiences for travelers from around the world.
