Roca Forte is a special cuvée from Château Roquefort and the name comes from the rocky peak on which the estate is built. This cuvée comes from the plots located on the limestone plateau right in front of the Chateau itself. Property of the Bellanger family since 1976, it is now the 2nd generation who is in charge. Frédéric , the son who is now in charge, works constantly to improve the quality of the wines and to create exceptional cuvees as Roca Forte. Grape varieties: 100% Merlot Average vine age: 30 years Vinification: After a pre-fermentation cold maceration, vinification takes place in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, including one third of new ones, for a period of 12 months. Food & wine pairing: Milanese veal chops, or chicken with truffles. Ideal temperature: 58/61°F When should I drink it? Between now & 2028 up to 2033 – Enjoy now or cellar for a few more years. Decant 1 hour before to drink. Blackberry, prune and truffle on the nose. Rich texture and great finish with a black fruit explosion. Balanced and full-bodied wine, with a subtle minerality.
