David Gutmann and his youngest son, Benjamin, are running Château Jouvente since 2016. As wine lovers, they wanted to build a family owned company around three important factors: land, life and the development of a fine product. Château Jouvente is located in the heart of Illats, a village within the Graves region. Grape varieties: 62 % merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot. Average vine age: 30 years old, the oldes t parcel dates from 1920 Vinification: Total de-stemming then maceration for 4 to 5 weeks in thermo-regulated vats for an optimal extraction of color and tannins. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels (1/4 new). Food & wine pairing: Grilled meat, beef ribs or duck breast. Ideal temperature: 61/64°F When should I drink it? Keeps from 15 to 20 years. A deep and intense carmine-cherry color. A nose with aromas of black fruits, pine nuts and graphite. A mouth marked by a nice freshness, a great perfumed length and silky tannins.
