Description

Croix des Rouzes is a Pomerol estate owned by the Carles family since 1948, family who also owns Château Panet in Saint Emilion. Historically, roses were planted in the vineyardsto warn us about the different diseases coming which is whythe original name of the plot was “Clos la Rose”. Grape varieties: 90% Merlot & 10% Cabernet Franc Average vine age: Vines are between 35 and 70 years old for the oldest plots. Vinification: Traditional wine making in concrete tanks. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, using one third of new oak ones,for a period of 12 months. Food & wine pairing: Roasted veal, stuffed with mushrooms. Ideal temperature: 58/61°F When should I drink it? Between now & 2025 up to 2030 – Enjoy now or cellar for just a few more years This nice ruby red wine is very fresh and crispy, with soft and elegant tannins. Mostly on red fruits aromas like red cherry or raspberry.
